The

Surrey
Fire and Rescue Contingent on parade at the Menin Gate. Typically the
11.00 a.m. service on the 11th of the 11th is attended by several UK Fire
Brigade Contingents. Devon Fire & Rescue (who provide the band) and

Crowds

attend the 11th November remembrance service. It is estimated that well

The Battlefield Tour
Ramparts
Cemetery by the Lille Gate - predominately early battlefield burials.
Arguably one of the most emotive cemeteries in the Salient.
Transport
Farm, Railway Dugouts. David Humberston talks about some of the sportsman
commemorated in this cemetery.
Canadian
memorial on Hill 62. This was the site of savage fighting in June 1916
when a German attack temporarily captured Observatory Ridge. The Canadian
counterattack re-gained the lost territory
German
concrete near the Boyau De la Mort (Dodengang) near Dixsmude. This
strongpoint was just within the German lines in a salient on the Western side of
the Yser canal.
